Approaching the Finish Line (Hopefully)

Is a new job finally right around the corner? I've had a series of second interviews with several places in the past two weeks, and this morning had my fourth interview -- a breakfast -- with the president of a D.C. trade association. They anticipate announcing their decision tomorrow or early next week, and as one of the two finalists (out of what I understand was originally a pool of 200 applicants) I'm getting antsy. I won't get excited, though; I've promised myself (and A.) that I won't do that until someone puts an actual offer on the table.

So God's answer to my prayers for the past several months could be here soon; I just have to be patient and see what His answer is -- to this and to A's ongoing job search.....

Wow. That job search process sounds harder than getting on American Idol.

Still praying that the right opportunity comes along for you soon. I hope this one's it.

Peace,
Brian

I'm really excited for you although my hopes were for a job in this area (so you and the family would be closer)! When you look back over the past several months, have you seen God at work in your life? I know it's been a hard journey, but I feel in my heart that you have learned a greater dependence on God and His plan for your life. Your examination of your prayer life is only one example.

I know in my own prayer life, sometimes I just don't feel like I want to talk to God, but then I realize how much He blesses me every day - some blessings so simple that I might miss them occasionally. "Blessed be the Lord who daily loadeth us with benefits..." (Psa. 68:19) "Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits." (Psa. 103:2) Spend just a few minutes trying to count all the blessings that God has poured into your life and you will soon have an extremely long list.

I have had to learn (the hard way sometimes) that God ALWAYS answers prayer. Sometimes it's "Yes," sometimes "No," and sometimes it's just "Wait." Wait upon the Lord - the practice of faith.

Well, before I get much too deep into this, just know that I am so happy for you and I know God will continue to bless you and your wonderful family.

I'm not sure which one is cooler - everything that God is doing in your life, or, the fact that your dad comments on your blog...that is cool!
