In Which Pew Should YOU Be Sitting?

Karen had this interesting quiz posted over at her site, and I have to admit that the results surprised me. As an Episcopalian, the high percentage of Roman Catholicism didn't really surprise me. But where did the high Evangelical ranking come from? And with the way my thinking has evolved in the past few years, I'm curious that my Post-Modernist leanings didn't rank a bit higher.

You scored as Roman Catholic. You are Roman Catholic. Church tradition and ecclesial authority are hugely important, and the most important part of worship for you is mass. As the Mother of God, Mary is important in your theology, and as the communion of saints includes the living and the dead, you can also ask the saints to intercede for you.

I don't know...I think this reflected your background and open-mindedness. You see the many sides of things...

Those statements on the theological quiz were strange! I felt as if I had been asked, "When did you stop beating your kids?"

The various shadings of 'agree' to 'disagree' are not helpful. It's like asking me to use any color of the rainbow to describe my experience with my vacuum cleaner. Huh?

It's probably just me; everyone else understands it completely. I did get one, though: "God said it. I believe it."

"God said it, that settles it!" whether you believe it or not!

I scored as Evangelical Holiness/Wesleyan...

"You are an evangelical in the Wesleyan tradition. You believe that God's grace enables you to choose to believe in him, even though you yourself are totally depraved. The gift of the Holy Spirit gives you assurance of your salvation, and he also enables you to live the life of obedience to which God has called us. You are influenced heavly by John Wesley and the Methodists."

Not that I am influenced by the Methodists (which incidentally is an incorrect term - should be United Methodists) or by John Wesley, my heart is "strangely warmed" when I hear the Gospel.

Life is too short for us to be caught up in labels and then have to explain the "labels" to others.

I trust in God's goodness, I trust in His promises, I trust in His power... If that makes me a (insert label here) then so be it...
