World's Youngest "Seinfeld" Fan?

I couldn't believe my ears: MB, my three-year-old, looked at me just a few minutes ago and said, "I want to watch 'Seinfeld.'" My wife said that she already knows the names of all of the major characters. What a shock -- and what a difference a generation makes; when I was three, I was naming characters from Watergate. My daughter names characters from a sitcom; go figure!

Too funny! We're big Seinfeld rerun fans here (and all the kids too). We never watched even one episode when it ran weekly. But once it hit reruns we became devotees.

My youngest daughter was about 3 at the time so I totally get what you're saying.

Yep, Watergate figured prominently in my young life. I used to watch the hearings every day on television, and was probably the only three-year-old who knew (or cared, for that matter) who Haldeman, Ehrlichman, Dean, and Liddy were. My father loves to tell the story that I used to talk about the television series that was on at that time about Watergate, "Washington Behind Closed Doors" -- or, in my lingo at the time, "Washington 'Hind Them Doors."

LOL. I have boys...I was watching the BBC Pride and Prejudice when the youngest was 3. He came over and snuggled in with me, fascinated. We watched together for several minutes, me thinking, "Wow, he's brilliant! Look at him engaged in this piece of living literature!" He turns to me and says, "Are they aliens?"
