One morning a man came into the church on crutches. He stopped in front of the holy water, put some on both legs, and then threw away his crutches.
An altar boy witnessed the scene and then ran into the rectory to tell the priest what he'd just seen.
"Son, you've just witnessed a miracle!" the priest said. "Tell me where is this man now?"
"Flat on his butt over by the holy water!" the boy informed him.

Have you read "Misquoting Jesus"?
It does make one wonder what the true words of Jesus were. I'm playing with the idea that the "true" words of Jesus will probably be found, in some form or fashion, in all the lovely teachings of all religions. The teachings that resonate as truly "do unto others as you would have them do unto you" may very well be universal...written on our hearts...no matter if we were born in Israel, USA, India, China or the remote regions of Siberia. Maybe finding the intersections is where we will find the true words of Jesus. That's where I am today.

Every once in a while my brother will step out of his wheelchair after a church service...when people don't know he can...and I love to watch their expressions...
